Was in Capitol Reef last weekend to go thru Pandora's Box, Strike 2 and Wayne's Wonderland with my friends. Had a great time and the weather was perfect. All three of these canyons are satisfying, but Wonderland is especially nice. Here's some pics, in no particular order...

Trying to attach photos on this site is a pain in the ass...I wanted to upload 19 of them in one fell swoop but it won't let me...and then any that are shot vertically have to be cropped.

Great pics...doesn't appear much has changed since last time I did it over a decade ago.
Did you take Slot_Machine along with you? The girl that appears in some of the photos looks like Slot_Machine's wife.
...or maybe you just stole his girl? :ne_nau:

No...Slotmachine took me with him. And that gal is his wife, Stephanie.
"Stole his girl?"...well, she is mighty fine, but not the kind to hook up with a Neanderthal like me.
I'll rightfully nod to be accused of many things...but a cad I am not.

What was it about Wonderland that you liked so much?

What was it about Wonderland that you liked so much?If you haven't been thru that one, it's highly recommended. I liked the approach hike...1000ft. straight up. Also, the views from the top were outstanding.
The canyon you descend is quite interesting...some big raps, lots of stemming over potholes, lots of deadman anchors, and the "character" of the slot changes near the bottom...there's even a big keeper pothole. Great canyon for an experienced crew.

Tell ol Slot Machine to come and say hi to the bogley crew once in a whileIf and when he comes around will be entirely up to him, no doubt about that.
He just tired of all the snobby assholes attacking him for sharing...not worth it, ya know? And forget the "grow a thicker skin" thing...he has a family and some of these jerks can be a bit threatening.
I remember the day I met Mike Kelsey...I was excited to see him and he took a step back...not knowing if I would punch or hug.

??? Much confuse. Halp.
We all have families...most of us have kids of our own. But what does that have to do with how intimidating internet trolls may or may not appear?

^^^Please explain what you mean by this.

^^^Please explain what you mean by this. Not too good at reading between the lines? You know damn well what I'm talking about...but I'll entertain ya.
I can't and won't speak for Bob. He contributed a considerable amount of stuff he but split after the West Canyon shitstorm...you remember that, right? He and I have spoken just a little bit about it.
Personally, I would provoke any troll that dared screw with me. I do the bitch slappin', not the other way around. I suspect you would as well...so would Shane, Justin and Kurt. If you think Bob wimped out, think again.
In regards to my analogy with Kelsey...try to imagine getting nasty messages from people you've never met, especially when you're just a peace lovin' guy. Perhaps the best thing to do is back off and let things blow over. He wants to come down and have a good time no matter where he is or what he's doing or who he's with. He comes down with his family sometimes. Personally, I think he figured "dealing" with it was just a waste of time.
Like I said, I'm not speaking for Bob...these are my words, not his. If you're curious beyond what I've said here, then I suggest you give him a call.
I shoulda kept my mouth shut...

Thanks, and I agree he got shit on unnecessarily. I thought he contributed a helluva lot, and seemed like a stand up dude. I was sad to see him part ways.
The pictures look great. Looks like a great time. Was there any water? With the weather we've been having I would be surprised if there wasn't a fair amount.

Surprisingly, Pandora was dry. I camped at the trailhead the night before that hike and met a couple that had just done it that day. They gave me the beta...which was priceless because we would have otherwise carried wetsuits.
The other canyons had water. Strike Two is a deep, slanted slot with pools...and it's quite physical to stay out of them. No one got into the water on that one, but it was a buttkicker. Bob suggested that going thru that one with a thin wetsuit on would be a good idea, and I agree.
Wonderland had waist deep pools that had to be waded, but a many of them could be stemmed...nearly everyone had a wetsuit for that one but we really didn't need them...although some would say they were more comfortable with a suit on. If it's above 75, don't bother. The pools in the upper half are exposed to the sun.
Great canyons!
