So, now that this thing appears to be done and signed by POTUS, is there a map of what's remaining as OHV accessible in the San Rafael Swell?

Designates the nearly 217,000-acre San Rafael Swell Recreation Area, which will be withdrawn from new mining claims and mineral leasing, and is closed to the construction of new off-road vehicle routes and trails. The 2017 settlement agreement reached between conservation organizations, off-road vehicle groups, and the Trump administration over BLM’s illegal 2008 travel plan will remain in place, requiring BLM to complete a new off-road vehicle plan for this area in the near future.

So Ive heard a bunch about this but am hearing mixed-facts.

I heard that all existing roads in SRS will be blocked off? And I heard that only NEW roads will be blocked by the new “wilderness” designation.

I guess my concern is The Hidden Splendor mine road. People have said to me that if I want to hike in that area, I’ll now need to park 20 miles and backpack in.

Is any of that true do you know?

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkNo friggin' way! This is the first I've heard of this...but the road coming in from I-70 heading south to the junction that goes to HS and Goblin should absolutely remain available...those are major roads.

If HS gets closed, then it's a hike in from the Factory Butte area...that's a hell of a lot closer than 20 miles. I can't see that happening...not a major road.

Hey Udink...can you come in with the straight story on this?

jman...mixing up the avatar!

Yeah! This is all stuff I read on the comments from the anti-wilderness crowd (anti-SUWA) on SUWA’s FB post.

That’s why I’m confused.

And yup, new avatar. I’m the prez. [emoji6]

Haha! You da man!

I wouldn't count on the HS being closed. I'd bet a grandad right now that's not going to happen.

74 miles of roads are being closed, but none of them are major roads. The closures are mostly at Seger's Hole, Middle Wild Horse Mesa, and near the rim of Labyrinth Canyon. This map shows all the closed routes in black: http://www.sageridersmc.com/uploads/4/3/0/8/4308716/7_ec_bill_road_closures_2018-12-11__v2.jpg

Hey Trump is it closed because you're bringing in oil rigs like Bears Ears? :haha:

Segers hole, last I checked was a route into Black Dragon Canyon. The map doesn't show North of I-70. Eagle Canyon? Devil's Racetrack?

Seger's Hole (https://caltopo.com/map.html#ll=38.56934,-110.99651&z=14&b=t) is in the far southwestern Swell. No routes are being closed north of I-70, thankfully.
