228 tickets over 120 mph is a lot, to say the least. Though the majority were between 122 and 129 mph, 89 drivers were ticketed in the 130+ range, and a full 27 brave Texans were nabbed crossing the 140-mph mark on public roads in 2018. The only caveat is that the data covers Texas Highway Patrol activity, so smaller municipalities aren't included here. But no matter—the highway is where the action's at.

There should be no speed limit on I-10 or I-20 across West Texas...you simply can't go fast enough to stave off the mind numbing lack of anything interesting to look at.

My record is 135 mph in Wyoming. The cop was kind enough to write me up for something like 24 mph over as 25 over triggers a whole new world of crap including an automatic reckless driving charge...

Fastest I've ever driven is 120...I was 18 and it was in a 1963 Chevy pickup with a 327 and a three on the tree. Up in the middle of nowhere east of Victorville, Ca...late at night.
It was windy and a styrofoam cup hit the windshield...sounded like a bomb hit the truck. It actually scared me so much I've never tried to go that fast again.

What's the fastest you have been clocked by the po-po?
Fastest I've ever driven is over 200 mph down the back straight at Daytona.
