I can't figure out why politicians try to play this game with Trump. I think he has proved many times over he will win the "gotcha" game. It screams of desperation to play, like when Rubio started trying to mock his small hands. I mean he has got to be the only national politician to ever call a porn star "horseface". So unless you are really willing to go all in, just stay the hell out. Not to mention, it is pretty moronic to try to "prove" your native ancestry when the best case is 1/64th. She'd had been 10000000 times better off, just saying "I grew up thinking I had close ancestors that were native American, but it turns out it was just family folklore. It in no way helped my career". But instead she somehow thought 6 or 10 generations would prove her right. And now she is a punchline for a few days.

For the record, I do think a politician may be able to win if they really went all in on the mocking game. Post the vids of the creepy things he has said about Ivanka and mention that you are against incest. Joke about how the first time Tiffany had heard from trump in the last 2 years was the presidential test. Make fun of his toad shaped penis. etc. etc. etc. But you can't half-ass it. Trump is a trained carnival barker and will eat his competition for lunch if they try to play the nice politician role. The ironic thing, is the only politician I can think of off the top of my head that had the balls for that game was Anthony Weiner. lol. Too bad he was a nut job, or there could have been some fun back and forth.

The problem is it did help Warren's career as she used the "woman of color" tag to gain her first professorship at Harvard when the university was attempting to diversify its pool of professors.

IMHO, Warren was in a no win situation here. She should have taken a page from Trump's playbook and just not release the info. That is what Trump has done with his tax returns and it hasn't hurt him.
