Well this is a bummer, it's my wife's step brother, Brandon Larsen. He was a teacher at Sandridge Jr high in Roy.

His jeep was found in the parking lot at Eagle Beach at the north marina of Willard Bay last night, it had been there since Sunday. His phone was still on, washed up on the north rock wall and was giving a location.

We searched last night with 3 different drones, boats, for hours. His body was submerged so we couldn't find anything. We figure somebody grabbed his board as we couldn't find it either.

Then this morning he was found on the North rock wall, right where we had spent hours of searching last night.

We are still curious if somebody found his board, shown below. It had to have been floating somewhere. It was the green and white SUP, inflatable.

Wear your life jacket, folks. Those wind storms can erase any swimming expertise you may have. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180711/f99d1e5186fa8164c6c0e93b618139c7.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180711/288ee462339167939bb1e382e97f9d3b.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180711/11304aa48fb78379c5fa8fc9f7be0b23.jpg

Yikes.

So he got blown off his board by a windstorm and drowned?

So, Sombeech -- His phone "was washed up on the north rock wall, giving a location?" Sounds weird. Is there any foul play suspected?

I'm so sorry to hear that. My prayers and condolences to you and your family.

My wife is taking a bunch of young women to Bear Lake tomorrow for girl's camp. I hope they all use those life jackets they complained so much about having to take with them.

If the board is your only life-saving flotation, please be tethered to it if you are not near other potential helpers.

Thanks guys, here's a little thought I had while searching.

As we were searching at Willard Bay last night, the light was fading. I was on my 3rd and last drone battery, losing hope in our search and losing time. Where could he be? Where should I search with the last 40% of my last battery? Then I saw this sunset. I stopped my search. I knew that Brandon had found peace and rest. Brandon was sharing this sunset with us. He wants us to know he is ok and although we are sad we cannot see him, he does not want us to mourn for him. He still loves you. He still knows you. It's only his body that is gone. He isn't defined by his body. None of us are. We are not our bodies. We are our soul. Thank you for the sunset, Brandon. See you later.
