Great ride to the West of that mountain, North of I-80 and Delle. The East side of the mountain was terrible and sadly, my riding buddy rolled his ATV violently at 40mph about 10 miles before we reached our trucks. He's fine, just some massive bruising and fractured ribs. Photos later.

Some decent technical and some easy trails in that area.. roll-over caused by nothing technical.

The West side of the mountain had loads of steep and somewhat technical switchbacks that seemed to keep going. The East side however was rather boring and unfortunately effected a 40mph roll-over for my friend Aaron.

Fortunately, Aaron was only bruised up pretty well, but his ATV didn't fare nearly as well. The entire front rack/cargo box was destroyed as was the rear tail light and rack assemblies.

Tracks for Grassy Mountain (Adjacent to the West) and Black Mountain attached.

What's up with the concrete foundations? Any mining activity around there?

Lots of old mining relics/remains, but nothing active. The steepest climb lead to what used to be a Marble Quarry.

We used to go out there in the winter to practice for desert races (almost never snowy and hardly anyone else out there in the winter). Good trails to get used to the higher speeds of desert riding with narrow tracks (i raced a quad) but if you got off trail there are enough rocks to make you regret it. Haven’t been out there in over 10 years but it doesn’t look like it’s changed.

I made i trip out to Notch Peak, Amasa Basin, for the 1st time last weekend (didn’t take enough pics for a TR, :facepalm1:) and it was great. Too much snow to make the peak without more of a hike than we were prepared for but a great place to ride even if it’s a bit of a drive from SLC.
