My friend had been using this for the past year or so and just clued me in on it’s existence.

Has anyone else ever used it? The price may scare away a lot of people though starting at $20.

Quoting the iPhone App:

“DStretch is a rock art enhancement program used by researchers worldwide.

iDStretch is a version for the iPad and iPhone that can be used in the field to reveal faint rock art.

iDStretch provides enhancements for a variety of pigments found in rock art. It is fast, simple to use, and enhancements can be saved. iDStretch needs no connectivity to work so enhancements can be done in remote places away from cell service or WiFi.

You can load an image from the album or take a picture with the camera.”

I'd buy that if there was an Android version.

I use the PC version frequently: http://www.dstretch.com/

It's free, but you've gotta e-mail the author to get it. I grabbed a copy a couple years ago when you could still just download it from his site.

Here are some of my photos where DStretch brings out more detail than is obvious with the naked eye:

Here are some from my friend which are taken near the Parrish Creek panel in Centerville.

I didn’t notice the print to the left of the main guy, though it’s very faded. But, it does show up.

I have used this program in the the past, but , with much trepidation I will say that the experience of the sites first hand is what
I live for...I visit sites at different times of year to see what will be revealed....for me the journey of discovery has to be live and in person to try to even understand a small part of the wonder and mystery I am experiencing...

I have not used it but I've occasionally achieved similar results while post processing manually, for this one I was using Gimp 2 at the time;

"The Lonely Anthropo" I'll call it, can you spot it?

I did a simple auto equalize action, then a bit of a crop which made it stand out much better.

Nice. I couldn’t spot it. And at first glance if looking at the wall, one might think “meh, nothing there”.

There are a few panels in the Swell that are in remote

I do like windmistrel’s point - just observing and taking it all in and to see them at different parts of the year. [emoji106]
