On Friday of the infamous UEA weekend in Utah, we had a chance to get away from work and visit the Arizona Strip and Toroweap Viewpoint on the Grand Cnayon. Had the canyon to our selves, with the exception of a very friendly and cool park ranger stationed at Tuweep. Great guy! Although a little windy, the views were exceptional. Sheer 3,000 foot cliffs right down to the river. It would be a rather dramatic rappel if doing that.

The infamous road was not very bad. Appears to have been graded recently. The park service gives plenty of warnings about the road and its remoteness on their web page, but it did not seem too bad. There are three options to get there, with the Mt Trumbull route being the most scenic and historic (old school houses and lumber mills). At any rate, we didn't see another traveler so the warnings are helpful. Additionally, having a second vehicle was a plus.

On the way back, stopped at Glitter Mountain south of St George to chip some selenite crystals for future school "show and tells."

Here are a couple of pictures of the austere yet beautiful area.

There is an area of a normal brain that lets the owner know the object works and needs to be left alone. Not all of us have it. It is like being colorblind.

I think they call that Platinum Status.

What the heck are these people even saying? Why do they even bother?

It's beautiful, don't mess it up. Some people can't appreciate it. Getting kinda poetic or having English not very well defined.

Legit or spam?
