Bluetooth for receiver for my phone

I want a Bluetooth to plug into my receiver so I can listen to tunes on my phone without having it attached to the receiver. So you guys seem to be expert in so many things. I thought I would ask. Have they improved enough to just for this phone would be within 10 feet or so from receiver. Not to expensive < $50.
