I've decide we should have a thread where we can help each other solve our first world problems. And to get things rolling I'll start things off.....
Every Sunday morning I'm faced with a major conundrum, do I go with salted caramel or chocolate cherry in my morning coffee? Thoughts?

Trying to narrow it down to one item on that menu is indeed a huge problem!
For me though, it usually ends up being a Green Chili Omelet with a pancake instead of toast.

Little or Big Cottonwood season pass? I did an Alta pass for most of my life, but have done a Soli pass for the past few years. I love the lack of crowds and I don't miss the traffic jams, but I do find myself missing Stonecrusher and Westward Ho on powder days. Brighton is probably best for my minions and it will be nice to take them up after work for some night skiing, so I think I will go BCC this year, but tram laps and a LCC pass are still calling my name.

Driving out to Wendover for the night, should I take the truck or the Vette?
The truck is a lot more comfortable, has satellite radio, quiet, smooth ride, more room to haul back good beer, much better AC, and I don't have to worry about it parked in public over night.
The Vette is noisy, harsh ride, crappy AC, can't here the radio over the engine, always have to keep an eye on it, zero storage, but it is so awesome to actually drive....

The truck it's too hot going across the Salt Flats you won't be able to sleep because you'll be nervous about your car in the parking lot the whole time. Now if you are riding to Jackson Hole where the temperatures would be cooler Etc I would go with the vette.

Not only does the Vette get poor mileage, but it doesn't run on regular pump gas. It has to have ethanol free gas of 91 octane or better, which means if I need gas in Wendover I have to head to the airport for aviation fuel. I can buy Pure Gas at a station in Lake Point (Stansbury), which with luck should get me to Wendover and back to Lake Point.

Pure Gas = without ethanol.
There is an app all the car guys use called "Pure Gas" to find ethanol free gas, which has morphed into most car guys using the term pure gas. Maverick sales 88 octane pure gas, others (Sinclair, Pro Stop, Cardwell) sell 91 octane, which is what I run in the Corvette as it has 11 to 1 compression. The Pure Gas app also tells you what octane each station sells.
I can run ethanol laced gas in a pinch, but it makes the car really hard to start after it has heat soaked because the ethanol laced fuel has a lower vapor pressure and boils in the fuel lines. This is a typical problem with classic cars as the gas we buy today is nothing like The gas we bought 50 years ago. The ethanol also plays havoc with the rubber in fuel systems that were not designed for it.

Sinclair is the only refiner selling non ethanol as far as i understand and it's basically premium minus the ethanol which takes it down to 88 the ethanol is 3 octane points. At my Chevrons I sell Sinclair non-ethanol and it's only 88. There has been some conversation in the conv. Store world about the false advertising. If they claim it's 91 find out who's refining it.

That actually makes sense and you probably know more about gas than I do. I run Pure Gas as the car runs much better on it along with solving the other issues I mentioned.
FWIW Cardwell Distributing sells Shell 91, it could also be 88, but it's not Sinclair.

Non-ethanol is a ton better for the older cars just I was just trying to make the point that most of it is only 88 in this state. I'll ask my distributor if shell has non-ethanol 91 but I doubt they do. From what I understand it's cost-prohibitive to make it because they're already refining 88 octane fuel and then they're just adding the ethanol to get the 91 to make premium up to 91 without the ethanol would take a whole nother refining process very pricey.

Adding ethanol to fuel is one of the most stupid mandates of all time. Taxpayers are forced to subsidize corn farmers and the ethanol industry.
Now I have a question, is 87 octane gas really 84 octane pure gas with ethanol added to up the octane or is there a high probability 87 octane contains less ethanol or is perhaps pure gas?

My first world problem:
I am tired and drained. I am not as young as I used to be and I'm starting to get burned out. I do not work as many hours as I used to, but it's still draining me. I've had one easy week where I didn't work much (only 44 hours) in the last five. My last full day off was August 5 and my next one will be September 3.

It was a hard week.
We have six months of work to do left before it snows. It's already snowing.

Yes. I have been to 50 countries, the majority of which are developing and undeveloped.
I can't say that all of the were sh** holes because I have been to a lot of poor countries where the people are still friendly and happy.
I even dream of retiring in Nepal (parts of which might be considered a sh** hole) some day, despite all their challenges.
PS, this is just a friendly note, rather than criticism, but the term 3rd world country is obsolete. It was a political term for countries that weren't allies of either the United States or the Soviet Union (which doesn't exist any more). Although most of these countries were poor, there were 3rd world countries that were very rich as well.
Now days, it's more accurate to use the terms developed, developing, and undeveloped to categorise countries by economic status.

Does your Vette use leaded or unleaded (leaving the ethanol aside for the moment). If you nip over to Wendover for aviation fuel, they may only have 100LL (100 octane low lead...and that's a misnomer; it has more lead than any motor gasoline ever produced).
What you may need is 91UL (the UL means unleaded) which is 91 octane made from 100LL, but when they take the TEL out, it reduces the octane to 91. I doubt if Wendover has 91UL (I landed there in May 2016; the day before I met up with Justin of this Parish at Ogden, and I didn't see any 91UL at Wendover).
But 91UL might be worth investigating for your Corvette; it has no ethanol or lead.
HTH,
Rob

Leaded fuel is not an issue for the Corvette as that is what it was originally built to run on. Also since it has no catalytic converter to clog up leaded is not an issue. Lots of classic car guys run aviation fuel just because it's leaded an they need it to make their valves last. A lot of guys mix pump gas with aviation 50/50, it just depends on what you engine requires.

Which the ethanol is an octane booster I guess so in theory it would be a little smaller percentage of the octane for each grade but it's basically 10% of each fuel. If you read the decal at every station it says up to 10% so basically I got no clue.

If you really want to know the scary thing about ethanol in the fuel we used to all have water in our tanks that we had to have pumped out about once a year. Condensation Etc well ethanol absorbs water because of that we are selling you the water. Yes we have filters that won't let a certain Micron of water go through but ethanol breaks it down so small that actually it is getting sold. Haven't had to pump my tanks since ethanol came out. Shouldn't be telling you all this but what the hell. As most of you already know it eats the living snot out of the rubber fuel hose that wasn't made for ethanol. It is very abusive stuff.

The bad part about the water in ethanol is it separates back out when it sits, this isn't a problem with a daily driver but it causes havoc in classics that often sit for several months between use. Ethanol sucks :-)

As my wife works towards her Nurse Practitioner, we'll both be working full time, I've been curious how much housecleaning services cost.

My wife deals with the housekeeper so I don't know all the details, part of it just depends on what you want done, if you go through a service, if they are in the country legally and if you pay in cash. I don't say that as a joke because housekeeper is a job that illegals flock to and you are supposed to 1099 any domestic help.
Our housekeeper came once a week and it was $65, except the last week of the month was $100.
The week of the $100 she would clean some extra items like the two guest rooms and attached bathrooms.
I have no kids left living at home so cleaning our house was not a huge job like when we had kids.
The biggest problem for me is finding someone I trust as a crooked housekeeper could cause some real issues.

So far my housekeepers haven't stolen anything and have been coming for about a year. No real complaints and I think the price is about what you were already paying. I don't 1099 them though and have no clue about citizenship. They work for a guy who speaks English but the 2 actually cleaners don't speak much English. If you are interested I can get you a name. Oh and Beech, my wife also works and it was more than worth it. No more worrying about spending a weekend day cleaning the house.
I also have a serious 1st world problem that has been bugging me for a few weeks though. I am about 16 days out from a 2 week ski trip to Switzerland and Austria and I can't decide what skis to bring. We will probably be spending about 60% of the time on lifts and the other 40% touring. My original plan was to just bring my touring setup and ski them inbounds as well. The problem is lightweight boots and lightweight skis just get overwhelmed in anything other than soft snow for me, and I don't really want to be skiing at 80% whenever we are riding lifts. Which means I have to be schlepping around 2 complete setups which is gonna be a pain in the ass, especially on trains. Life is hard.

.....a crooked housekeeper could cause some real issues.
Is this why you're currently looking for a new one?

True story... on of the single guys that works for me hired a lingerie housekeeping service. The deal was two hot chicks would show up at his apartment and clean it while wearing sexy lingerie for $100.
The next day he came to work and I asked how his cleaning service worked out. He said two attractive women showed up in lingerie and high heels and they each walked around his apartment for an hour with a duster and dusted stuff, after which they asked for their $100 and left. The guy was really pissed off because he said the girls didn't do any actual work except dust.
The guy really thought these women in heels and lingerie were going to scrub his floors and toilet... after he told me the story I spent the rest of the day laughing my ass off.

No... Trump deported her.
Hahaha....
Just kidding... she says she has health issues and can't clean anymore. In reality I think she heard about the new Democratic plan to pay everyone a good wage, even if they don't want to work, and I'm serious about that.

We could take every dollar in this country today, divide them equally among everyone in the United States and within 5 years we would again have just about the same distribution of the wealth that we have today.

Bernie and AOC disagree.
