Is it too early in the season right now for these Arizona canyons? I'm going next weekend. Also, camping near the area?

Thanks in advance.

I've done these canyons a few times but always in the summer or fall. I'll bet you'd have running water in them. I've pictures of friends doing Roosevelt Lake area canyons, though, so it could be possible. Probably just have to investigate and assess.

Any recommendations for other canyons to do in the Phoenix area?

I just did sundance this last saturday. Temps were low 70's with intermittent sunshine and with 4/3 wetsuits we were all still very chilled. We opted not to do bear given how cold sundance felt. I would look into superstitions as we did Sierra canyon and it was much warmer and I was comfortable in a shorty with cap. On a warm/sunny day waterslides gets a lot of sun.

Of course, now that I've bought the ticket, the weather's turning bad. Are any of the canyons near Phoenix less flashflood prone or safer when there's a chance of rain? Probably a dumb question. I'm looking at punchbowl and the jug of salmone, or christopher creek.
