Wow! Anyone else hear about this?! This should help recoup some of the tourism money that slipped away as a result of the recent collapse of Delicate Arch.
Groundbreaking on this new "frontier" themed amusement park is scheduled to commence this summer, and the grand opening sometime mid 2018. The site of the park is north of Moab, in Salt Valley, adjacent to the north border of Arches National Park.
What a boon to the local economy there. I can't wait! How exciting! Attached are a few schematic drawings illustrating the final layout and design of the park:

Nope, the ground is already been being cleared. Although ground breaking and construction doesn't start until this summer, some of the land has been cleared for layout. Here is a screenshot I took of the construction pads off My Topo satellite:

Those arches are actually man-made though, so they aren't destroying any arches, or so they say.
John F Duffy, the CEO for Six Flags has this to say about environmental impact:
Because Six Flags is a family Park, we expect Guests to behave appropriately. Violating our Park policies may be cause for ejection from the Park without refund.
Six Flags has always had an outstanding environmental record and great care will be taken to protect the natural environment both inside and outside the Park. Six Flags is a leader in recycling programs and Zeroscaping landscaping techniques that help the Park blend in with the surrounding natural environment. Great care will be taken to preserve nature and wildlife, both inside and outside the park. We understand that the area around Moab is sensitive to disturbance and Six Flags' environmental policies can be viewed on our website. We are thankful for the positive outlook and encouragement both from the residents of Moab and from all those whom have expressed concern about the park affecting the environment.
Although, personally I am against the park, hopefully they will do well in this regard.
The park is on SITLA land, so no BLM permits are needed. Hopefully access will be preserved for those driving through the park to visit Salt Valley and the Sunshine Wall. There is some pretty good climbing there. This is the Sunshine Wall, which isn't very far from the park:

Still pulling our legs, right? You didn't provide any web links and I can't find anything through google searching.

I read that Disney is bidding for some real estate in the area as well, to compete with Six Flags.

I think that the reference to the fall of Delicate Arch was the tip off that this is indeed a joke. April 1st came early this year.

Look at all of the rocks they've broken off of the cliffs for the zippy zapper roller coaster route

Is anyone interested in a Bogley gathering to check out the construction site on April 1 or there about?
