It's that time again. Who's in? Watch for the renewal notice if you played last year. Seems like all the managers were particpating last year.

Every year it's super competitive so I'm hesitant to make any changes.Last year we briefly discussed the idea of modifying the waiver wire. This is what I had said back then

the only rule change I feel strongly about and that I've seen improve our other league is a change to the waiver wire. It becomes even more competitive
when the waiver wire works in a true last place gets first choice scenario. Currently, even though, our waiver wire order resets each week it really only applies if two people add the same person at the exact same time. Which never happens so really whoever adds the person first, no matter when it is, get the waiver addition. We changed that in our other league so that all waiver wire additions occur Wednesday morning per the waiver wire order. This gives teams in bottom positions a better chance at improving their team. You can still add Wednesday thru Monday but only for players that haven't played in case you realize at the last second you need someone or an injury update changes something.

For example let's say you have Leveon Bell. He gets injured during the game. Currently there would be a race to add Dengelo WIlliams in order
to get him first and if you look through our waiver wire you'll see that players are being added mid-game when they are doing well. Whereas with
the new waiver rules the worst teams would have first crack at the top waiver additions

So that is the only change I propose but we should discuss it as a group and determine if it's one we want to change.

We do have at least one opening that I know of since Jason (RB's Cleats) won't be returning. So if anyone knows someone....

I vote for the waiver wire change if it helps the bottom feeders.

The draft is set for Labor Day weekend. I know I will be on the mtn camping. I will just auto draft it doesn't end up getting changed, I very rarely end up with the original roster anyways

Anybody else want to join? I've got one more but we need even teams so I'm looking for another.

Also I'm going to move the draft to the evening of Labor Day, Sept. 5th rather than the Sunday before. I think most of us will be back from our adventures by Monday evening. Thoughts?

A reminder the draft is next Monday and I did make the waiver wire change. We'll see how it goes initially and we can opt out of it at any time if we want to.

So we have a rolling waiver wire rule now. The short and quick is that waiver wire rule adds and drops for the new week aren't 'opened' till Tuesday and the waiver order is assigned by standings.

Here's how it works, if we are watching football on Sunday and antonio brown breaks his leg during the game we would all go and add the other WR on that team. But that won't be reflected in anyone's lineup until Tuesday morning. And the person with the lowest standing that added the new guy would get him.

Let's say it's Sunday morning and you realize your kicker is benched. You would still be able to add a kicker that morning to repair your lineup since the waivers run Tuesday to Tuesday and the players aren't locked until they've played.

Another scenario, let's say its10 minutes before the game and antonio brown breaks his leg during warm ups. Whoever adds the other WR, before game time, would see that waiver processed immediately.

Basically any player who's team has started a game from Thursday to Monday night isn't eligible to be added to a roster till tuesday morning and the order the waivers are processed is determined by standings.

Make sense? Hope so!

Projected 96 points for the sad-sack injuns this week...wound up with over 150.

Sun even shines on a dog's ass some days...

Lamar Miller and C.J. Anderson should combine for over seventy points tonight, and the injuns will pull out the win.

All I know is that the injuries this year are brutal. I had to go without a couple of players last week since I didn't want to drop anyone for a scrub. That's the only reason Scott made it into 2nd. I'll soon reclaim it.

(https://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/f1/425696/deletecommishnote?crumb=CnwZ2peJEhA&note_id=1) Some of you may notice that I reversed the Shepard/Johnson drop that occurred this morning from T-Bone. He accidentally dropped the wrong guy and asked me to correct it. Since I figured nobody would willingly drop the #1 RB for Shepard I corrected the mistake, especially since we don't have a 'Cant Cut List' anymore.

If some of you were savvy enough to have already created a waiver bid for Johnson for Friday you'll see that it has been removed automatically.

Thanks and carry on and remember I'm always watching.....

Oh yes...a resounding 2 point victory only because your stupid defense coughed up a lousy two points on Monday night football.

I'll be the first to point out that my team is garbage supreme. The fact that I'm 4-4 is a minor miracle. What's really frustrating is the lack of consistency. One week I can't break 60 points, the next week I break the league record for most points in a single week. Ugh...

Yeah, like five guys with a 5-5 record. Two of my losses came by a margin of less than four points. And I've seen others lose in the same fashion. Been a pretty tight league all year.

The only way this league could be any better is if Yota would go fu*k himself.

For sure. I totally agree that it's a fair amount of luck and only takes one bad or good game in the playoffs anyways, or on how close our league is to even make it into the playoffs. I think I've only lost 2 of the last 14 games though dating back to last season, so I'll take it while it's here.

Nah man, I'll be there, duking it out in the consolation bracket. Surprised I'm even in contention at all considering my team sucks donkey dicks. Would've been better, but the last three weeks my star players have had a tough schedule, playing @Minn, @GB, bal, and @Az. Meanwhile, my opponents get Cin at home, Miami at home, and weak ass Clev at home.

Think I've done an admirable job of squeezing blood out of turnips this season. Getting wins out of a very mediocre group of second and third tier players.

I think NFL teams are starting to play their starters very carefully at this stage, wanting to maintain their key players healthy going into the playoffs. I had the lowest scoring game I've had all season - by far. And I notice almost everyone else in the league's scores are way down as well.

I don't know that its as much coaches pulling players as just the luck and inconsistency anymore. I'm in an ESPN league also and my team there is only at 51 points going into tonights game with only 1 player left. Luckily, as is what a lot of this comes down to, the guy I'm playing only scored 59 total points and it's the first round of the playoffs there so I will prob move on. Too many teams in the playoff hunt this year for most teams to be putting anything on cruise control.

It was an off week for qb's. My Dak Prescott threw an uncharacteristic 2 INT's, and totally laid an egg in NYC.

Anyways, good luck to all who made it to the championships. I hope all your star players either go down with season ending injuries, or get arrested on drug charges. Or both.

Yota turning in the worst point total in the entire league going into the playoffs. Wut happened?

That's exactly what happened to me the past two years. I marched into the playoffs with a powerhouse team which took a huge dump when I needed them the most.

I'm just happy to see a Burrows playing for the Championship.

Sometimes the powerhouse teams bench their starters or slow down their playing time to avoid injuries. I don't think that happened this year though.

2065toyota
12-19-2016, 05:29 PM
Ya. When you have 10 players and the only one who scores more than their projection and is your leading scorer is your kicker, you know you're in trouble . And your competitor has 5 that outscore their projection.

Only had one player sit, and that still wouldn't have been close to making up the difference. Everybody has bad weeks, it's just more critical when it's in the playoffs. Championship game should be close, this whole year has been pretty competitive.

I won my work league though. 1st and 2nd is a great year.
