My family and I spent the week at Bear Lake. We fished, Kayaked, swam and went on a fun hike.
We staged at Tony Grove (Lake) and did the 3.6 mile (one way) hike to White Pine Lake. What a scenic location. Elevation gain (up, then down, the up and down again) was about 1200'.
Upon completing the hike, we encountered a decent sized bull Moose hanging out near the parking area.

Thanks for the trip report! That's right in my backyard. We bike that route all the time. Glad you had a good time. Hopefully it wasn't too crowded for you. Often on the weekends you'll get about 37 scout troops doing that hike as an overnight backpacking trip. Often there's a Mama Moose at White Pine Lake.

Awesome, I'm hoping to take my family backpacking up there within a couple of months.

We were there on a weekday (Wednesday, I believe). Despite us returning to the TH at ~4pm, we did see many heading down the mountain at the same time, to include at least 15 scouts with full packs.
