I have another impromptu packrafting trip planned for the South Fork of the Flathead river through the Bob Marshall Wilderness next month if anyone is interested in joining. My plan is to go in over Young's Pass via the Lodge pole Creek TH and hike down to Young's Creek to the first spot that looks floatable, probably somewhere around Babcock Creek. From there it is roughly 8 miles to the confluence with Danaher Creek, which is the headwaters of the Flathead. From the confluence of Young's and Danaher to the take out at Mid Creek is 40ish miles of world class floating and fishing through one of the most spectacular wilderness areas in the States. The Bob is also home to the largest concentration of grizzly bears and wolves in the lower 48. If you feel like you need to disconnect, and would like to step back 100 years and see what this great nation of ours looked like before it was overrun by humanity, come join me.

I should mention that the hike over Young's Pass to Babcock is roughly 20 miles with a couple thousand feet of elevation gain. But once you get through the agony of the 20 mile hike, you will have 50 miles of floating for your reward. Not to mention world class fishing for big dumb westslope cutthroat trout.
