Slideanide TR - Poison Spring 05/15/2016
Poison Spring is alive. Flowers in bloom, insects are out, lizards everywhere, rabbit parts in the slots, mice squished in the sand...., well most are alive anyway.
The area seems greener than I remember in past times. Lots of big black crickets were dancing and hopping on the sand too, right out in the open, in broad daylight!
The canyon is in great shape - couple of little spots of mud and the rest dry.
All of the upper canyon drops are down climbable maybe - we rappelled two of them.
That one kinda tight, dark steep slot section in the middle of the canyon, the one where good elevatoring skills come in handy - that's a hoot doing for sure.
And!.... the 180 foot long crack finish - Whoa.... that's the way to end a canyon.
The climb out for its looks is worth mentioning.
We took the shortcut route out and up - thats the route cross canyon at the mouth of Constrychnine.
Thanks to my canyoneering partners Jessica, Alijeh, Jeremy and Lorin for a great time and great pictures
