Today we went on a guided tour of a canyon in the middle ofthe rain forest near Uvita Costa Rica. We were able to rappel down 4 waterfallsand hike around two others. It was a completely different experience in atropical environment versus the sandstone environment we are used to. The firstrap was about 20 feet and got increasingly larger until the final one beingabout 85 feet. A couple things I realize is that rappelling down slickrock iscompletely different that wet moss covered rocks. I also realize that havinggood canyoneering shoes is a lot better than the keens that I brought onvacation. Here are a few pictures of the canyon down here.
