About a month ago I was looking at a Raspberry Pi 2 that we had at work and I started searching for cool projects they can be used for. Then I came across a few different blogs showing how people had taken a monitor, put a 2 way mirror over it, framed it all in and hung it on the wall with a Raspberry Pi inside, creating a mirror that can show different stats like the time, weather forecast, calendar, RSS news feed of your choice, and a daily greeting if you choose.
It basically boots up to a browser in kiosk mode with some settings you can customize.
Here is how mine turned out, I haven't hung it up yet, I'm still looking for a spot. I'll post up the terminal commands later, these are how you build the OS and other software functions.
I used an older 20" VGA monitor, and that's the heaviest part of the whole project, even with all of the plastic stripped off. If you're willing to spend more money (I got this one for free) then you can get a nice big, but really thin LED monitor and save a lot on the overall weight. So my mirror dimensions are @ 13" X 17", and with the wood frame and all, the outer dimensions are about 10 inches more than that all around.

Here's how the build went:
