I've been looking out the window from my office in Kaysville for the past couple of weeks at this yellow patch of trees near Francis Peak, up Farmington Canyon. It gave me hope that there are still colors up there. So I texted my wife today and said let's drive up Farmington Canyon tonight and catch the colors and the sunset.
I'm very glad we did. It was one of those leisurely drives not knowing what we would see, just taking a slow drive up the canyon for a chance of seeing a few colors and at least a sunset. The reds and oranges weren't as bright, most of them had turned to brown. But the bright yellows made the trip totally worth it.
I hope these cell phone shots give you somewhat of an idea of how our drive was tonight.
