Guess facts don't sell on alphabet tv., rather--if it bleeds it leads...

I no longer believe the statistics on crime. Not because there is an agenda by the FBI, but because the system just doesn't bother with crime to the full extent possible. We all know that in nearly every American city now, any woman walking a significant proportion of streets will be attacked. Any item left out will be stolen. Any property break in will go unsolved. It's just a fact of life. The decline in statistical crime is attributable to people in society giving up even bothering to report it.

Anyway you slice it violent crime is down 50% in the US in the past 20 years.... but fear brings higher TV ratings so that is what the network news brings to the table.

Gun control groups and the media outlets have been reduced to propagating a lie by claiming that the social acceptance of “Gun Culture” is somehow leading to more violent crime.

I'd have to agree, but it's not only crime. Statistically terrorism is way down and so are percentage of people killed by wars. There has never been a more peaceful time in human history than the current time. People seem to think the opposite though. That doesn't mean that we should let our guard down, but crime, terrorism, and the percent of the population killed by wars is actually down, so we shouldn't live in constant fear either. It's the media and politicians who are always pushing the fear angle.
