Google Photos

Have some of you techies (or not, I suppose) played with the new Google Photos app for iPhone or Android?

I've been using it since the release and have been amazed at how cool it really is.

First of all, I've been using a paid storage with Google for the past 8 years (nearly 50GB for only $5 year- a grandfathered plan). So now, with Google Photos you get unlimited storage with Google. So that now frees up 25GB of my Google Drive. Yay.

Anyways, with the app I can easily create albums to share all of my hikes and canyons with friends and co-workers (and of course, archival purposes).

Here is a screenshot of the app of just a few albums that I have re-uploaded.

Your thoughts on the app or separation from Google+ ??

Yeah I've seen it but haven't really jumped into it yet. Messed around with Amazon's photo app too. I've got the 1TB storage on my Google Drive so I haven't really looked elsewhere, but it's always good to check other stuff out.
