Sandstone Addiction

Our family was in St. George for the weekend at a family reunion so I figured I'd better throw in a "short and sweet" canyon to enjoy on our way out of town.
We arrived at the trailhead about 12:30 and met a group of 3 finishing the canyon. They confirmed that wetsuits were a good idea, which turned out to be good advice. I would have probably been fine without one, but they made for a pleasant and enjoyable day.
It took us a half hour to gear up and have a snack and were at the 1st rap about 1:00. We opted to rap the first 20 footer mainly because a few in our group hadn't been on rope for a few months and needed a short refresher to get back on their game. We chose to rap from the bolts about 30 feet back from the drop. We extended the webbing to reduce the chance of rope grooves and improve the pull.
Brandon at the big drop.

By this time, with Trevor's wetsuit being a bit too small and neo socks too short, Trevor wasn't having as much fun as everyone else and was looking for the exit ramp which wasn't too far away.
