I am not sure it this is the right spot to post, so feel free to move it if need be. I am planning on taking the family out to San Rafael this weekend and pulling a 26' trailer along. I have tent camped and backpacked there a few times but never actually pulled the trailer. I know some of those roads are pretty rough and would prefer not to destroy the trailer and have the wife want to kill me. Does anyone know of some decent roads where I could find a spot to park for a few days? With it being Memorial Day I know I will have to fight the crowds a bit but I am hoping by leaving Friday morning I can still get spot. Thanks for any advice!

Lots of people RV camp at South Temple Wash (same turnoff from the highway as Goblin Valley). I imagine it might be a zoo Memorial Weekend though.

North or south of Exit 131 at I-70 has plenty of camping options. If you follow the signs from Ferron or Castledale into the Swell, plenty of spots there. I'm heading out Thursday, as that entire area will get quite packed. Temple Mountain won't have a single spot available, so I'd defer you to the locations I've just listed.
Another option would be around Buckhorn well. You'd access just before Castledale..

Btw, my rig is 43' long and 14.5' tall and I've made it into all these locations without issue.

Have you ever been out to Hidden Splendor? Any idea on how the road is?

Yes, road is fine. I was just out there a month ago. You have to hike in.. no idea how long the wooden barricade has been up blocking the road (at the airstrip).

We ended up finding a nice little spot along Temple Mountain road. We shared the area with a lot of folks, but our campsite was relatively secluded. The best part was when my 3.5 year old asked if we can go back to the desert tomorrow. :)

Nice! I was camped just off Exit 131 at the Wickiup. We had ~23 machines in our group as we rode through the Temple Mountain area (Behind the Reef).. you couldn't have missed that gigantic group.
