Back in the late 1970's I was an Student Air Cadet and had a ride in an English Electric Lightning from RAF Brawdy in South Wales. It was just another aeroplane to have a ride in back then...every week we flew in something different. But this was the most stunning! Mach 1 and 50,000 feet from a standing start in 45 seconds.
