Canaan Mountain Information

I spent the day today up on Canaan Mountain by Zion. Sad to say they are running helicopter tours there over there now. Three flights over in a mid February day. I can't imagine what peak season will be like. I had just left the white domes when the last one flew right over them. Sad.

Good news today. I spoke with the St. George BLM office rec planner and he was very helpful. I says they are to fly 2000 feet over Wilderness Areas. He is sending an officer to speak with the helicopter company. He also thanked me for reporting it. I'm sure it's not going to fix everything but it's a start. If you are up in the area and see the same, please let the BLM know. It really is an amazing place and it would be a shame to lose it.
