There are very few 'firsts' in my life that I remember well. First time I kissed a girl? Hell if I know, hell if she does either. I remember this one though.

In 7th grade a friend snuck his walkman into an assembly along with the infamous Straight Outta Compton. The blood red N.W.A on the album cover peaking out of his jacket. All the hype and fret surrounding it made it feel like just seeing that logo would damn you to hell. We sat low and listened the whole time, occasionally sharing with the others sitting near us. Goddamn they ruthless!

Such a revolutionary album, one my all time favorites.

You didn't? High school age or so for you wasn't it? No Dre, no Cube?

No, I didn't. I wasn't allowed to have a radio in high school, but even if I were, I wouldn't listen to that. I did listen to a bit of Def Leppard and AC/DC though.

I wonder how they got Glenn Beck to play Jerry Heller?

I don't listen to the newer C-rap, but yeah I dig that older material from Ice Cube and Tone Loc, for sure.

And so continues the decline of America.

Yep, some guys put their complaints about their experience in America in their cultural art form and make shit tons of money. So un-American of them. </sarcasm>

I bought Death Certificate the day it was released. Wore that tape OUT!

I saw Cube about 6 years ago, and he performed like he was broke. Mopped the sweat off with a towel after each song. I've seen world class performers in all genres and very few compare. Top 5 performer that I've ever seen, no question.

Wears locs like he invented them. Legendary!

Oh hell yes. My neighborhood was a violent place. Seemed to fit a lot better than AC/DC at the time.

DING DING!! WINNER!!

Def Certificate is still very high on my all time favorite albums list. I can quote long stretches of most of the songs off the top of my head. I grew up just down the street from Accadacca in a pretty bad part of Salt Lake, but I don't think that influenced my taste of music. I just like Cube's sound.

Yo Acca, what was that one brown P.O.S. that we used to ride around in? The one we pin-striped blue and red? :roflol: What make/model was that car?

The hooptie that we used to ride in was a 1984 Buick Century.

But the 'u' fell off the back of the trunk. So we just called it the Bick!

It was a Toyota Corolla hatchback. My first car.

Add fairly large rust spots all over this and put some red and blue pinstripes down the center and along the sides of this, and that should paint a fairly accurate picture of what Acca and I used to roll around the streets of South Salt Lake in:
