We went up above Vegas on Saturday for what we thought would be a soggy ride. It had rained all day on Friday but we could see the snow hadn't made it down to far on the mountain. We started out in some fog and light misting that was just enough to be annoying on the goggles. The washes and trails were super sticky with a few entertaining puddles here and there. On the back side of Redrock we started running into snow on the climb up out of the canyon to the top. Significant water flow had pretty much erased the normal trail making the climb up pretty tough. The big rocks, covered in snow, combined with the mud made traction non existent. At one point I wrecked three times in 100 yards, once was a tip over on a stall in the rocks, the next was a slide out in the snow on an off cambered hill, and the third was a hidden rock under the snow that bounced me sideways. Fun times. The top was nice, but quickly turned to blizzard conditions and the way down was pretty slippery. Finished up in a full on rain/sleet/ quasi snow storm. About 50 miles total.

On the back side of red rock. It won't stay long but we always try to ride up there after a big rainstorm in the valley. Super sticky trails and washes.
