This year was a hunt planned with Ride-on and Punchking. The hunt opener was Wednesday September 24th. We had our things ready and headed out Tuesday after work, driving six hours to the Blue Mountains and setting up camp at Dry Wash north of Blanding. First thing Wednesday morning we spotted a nice buck but we just talked about how nice it was instead of shooting . That day we spotted 11 buck deer, with only one shot fired/missed at a buck on the run. We made it back to camp after dark for a great campfire. Day two we headed out and came across a small buck uphill at 96 yards I took the shot and had one down. later that afternoon about a half mile from the trail, in tall aspens we spooked up another and ride-on made a great shot to the back of the skull as the buck was heading straight away. About 20 minutes later we came across another and Punchking made a perfect heart shot. With our tags filled we hung them in camp and relaxed! Day three, with the warm weather we butchered and packaged all three deer and picked up some dry ice in town to freeze the meat for the long trip home. Another great hunt and harvest, no records here but great times!
