Edit:

One of the comments said something very interesting: that blast is supposedly an explosive charge used to trigger the eruption, not the eruption itself, and in fact the shock wave looks a lot like one from a bomb.

I don't suppose an eruption, even an explosive one, can create such a concentrated release of energy that produces shock waves.

Also: the guy who recorded the video seems to know in advance that the blast is about to take place, as it would be the case with a controlled explosion.
