So what's the deal? Is there actual video of the accident? Was it intention or an accident? I can't imagine him trying to run a guy over. But.?.?.?

Yes there's a video. It was nothing but an unfortunate accident.

Well the sole blame is on the one the racer who runs out on the track.
My opinion is Tony wanted to get close to scare him a bit, as I'm a better driver, but perhaps got a little too close (or perhaps the other driver stepped out too far in front of Tony).
Either way, I believe, Tony didn't have plans to run down the guy...

I believe I'm the only one on this forum who has actually driven a Sprint Car.... so here is my 2 cents.
Do you guys have any clue how difficult it is to see out the right side of a Sprint car? It's damn near impossible. I've raced one, let me give you a little tour of what it's like to strap one on.
First off you are wearing a balaclava, over this goes your full face helmet, which is strapped solid to your body by the Hans device.
Next you are strapped tightly into the seat. Looking out the right side you are looking around the roll cage and under the wing side board which hangs down into your field of view. The right side of the cockpit is built up to just below your eyes to keep rocks out. And to top it all off the narrow slit that you can actually see through often has bars or netting in place to keep debris out of your face. Not to mention after a couple of laps your face shield is covered with mud.
Ward came at Tony from the right not from the front. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if Tony never saw the guy in a black suit, at night, on a poorly lighted track, or didn't see him until the last instant. Tony would not have been expecting Ward because they never actually touched. Tony would have been clueless that he was part of a racing accident.
Below is the view from out of a winged Sprinter, the helmet will play the role of the car that was directly in front of Stewart.
YMMV
