Looks like the stars are aligning for the Cougars. Half the Longhorns are suspended, other half injured. Their offensive line has a combined 5 starts, 2 of those starts came last week.

The spread in Vegas went from something like 4 in favor of Texas to a 1 1/2 points in favor of BYU in the last week. I'm hopeful!

BYU looks awesome! The offense is really clicking and that running back they have called T. Hill is one heck of an athlete!

I honestly do not see any losses on their schedule. If they go undefeated though, will their schedule be enough to put them into a playoff position?

I think BYU has a serious shot of going undefeated, but I don't think that gets them in the playoff. It may very well get them out of the Miami Bowl or whatever that thing is called.

Even with all the suspensions & injuries, very nice win for the Cougars.

BYU's schedule is way to soft. It's not even as hard as the old MWC schedule were at least you would have a couple of ranked teams to get past.

I love BYU...but they're not going undefeated....we always find a way to lose to a lesser opponent.

I will agree that we are beatable in that we seem to be our worst enemy with penalties and turnovers. When we play clean, no one has stopped us yet. The UCF game is the one that I worry about most.

Geez, Hill is tearing up opponents. Considering his performance in the first 3 games, you'd think that teams would make a more concerted effort to shutting him down. Stop Hill = Stop BYU.

First win for the Aggies in Provo since 1978 and it was the highest ranked team they have even beaten. The next highest was #19 Fresno State.

With a QB in his first BYU start and an absolutely terrible missed PI call on the final play (verified by the officiating supervisor) ... I wouldn't say they choked it away... but they kinda did... :)

Wow... this team has become a train wreck. And there is no way you can blame the QB. Stewart threw for over 400 yards, 4 touchdowns and no picks. Those are outstanding numbers. Those are old school BYU QB numbers.

They lost 3-0 in the turnover battle. All their other stats were light years ahead of Nevada, but the scoreboard is all that matters.

BYU's defense has allowed 30+ points in the last 4 games against mediocre teams.

BYU is a 6.5 point underdog to Boise State on Friday night.... a week ago BYU was a 7 point favorite. That is a huge swing you don't often see.

I think taking BYU and the points is a good bet. Boise isn't that good and BYU isn't that bad.

I remember well the 80's and the glory years of BYU football. It's a shame to see this program fall to such a low with a schedule that can best be described as male bovine excrement. I miss QB U.

Sad but the program is currently being pulled in to many directions with to many agendas to ever be successful.

No major conference will touch BYU so long as BYUtv is tied to the program and the school must package the team as part of BYUtv or few cable companies will carry the programing.... talk about painting yourself into a corner.

Money wise game attendance isn't nearly as important as TV money. A surprisingly high number of college stadiums are actually removing seats and downsizing. The new trend is smaller stadiums with improved fan comfort and experience. The loss in gate revenue is more then made up by increased TV contracts.

The tides have turned for the once proud BYU Football program. I don't think they will ever be the same. It started on the day the Utes left for the Pac-12 and BYU hastily signed up for Independence.

BYU will return to prominence if/when they get an invite to a major conference. The problem is no major conference wants them if BYUtv is part of the deal and the church will not separate the two because they need the sports programing to get BYUtv onto cable and satellite.

One thing I've noticed is with the new playoff system anyone outside a big 5 conference doesn't stand a chance. Florida State is defending national champion, is undefeated and falling in the polls because they are in perhaps the weakest of the big 5. Schedule now appears to count more than ever.

The score easily could have been 100. Savanna State was truly awful, perhaps the worst team I have ever seen on the college level.

Savannah State is currently on a 21 game losing streak. Their last win was against Fort Valley State University on September 14, 2013, which was their only win of the season. They won one football game in 2012, one in 2011, one in 2010...

This season has been one of the most difficult ones for me as a fan in a long time. Win four and I am on top of the world. Taysom Hill breaks his leg midway through the USU game and the wheels fall of that BYU hype bus in a hurry. Multiple other season ending injuries or multi game injuries wreck the team. One thing for sure, the Cougs aren't as deep as I think Bronco thinks they are. Another thing, Christian Stewart is a good quarterback. I just wish he would have found his groove earlier. I'm happy that BYU is 3-0 against P5 schools but so very confused and disappointed about the 0-3 against the Mountain West, although Boise is a pretty darn good team. Here's to a bowl game in Miami and to next year!

I thought Stewart was a really good QB, the big problem was the cougar's were not geared and had little practice for a drop back QB. BYU lacks depth and speed, that's my two cents. Miami is a nice place to vacation in December.

BYU vs. Memphis, Dec. 22 (ESPN, 2 p.m. ET)

Why to watch: You can check out what has been one of the country's most underrated coaching jobs. Memphis coach Justin Fuente, a former TCU offensive coordinator, guided the Tigers to a 9-3 record and share of the AAC title after going a combined 7-17 in his first two seasons at the school.

Who to watch: Memphis quarterback Paxton Lynch threw for 2,725 yards with 18 touchdowns, while running for 283 yards with 10 scores. He set an American Athletic Conference record with 28 total touchdowns this season and hasn't thrown an interception in the past six games.

Motivation for BYU: BYU has kind of fallen out of the spotlight as an independent, so the Miami Beach Bowl is a chance for the Cougars to make a strong showing on a national stage. BYU can finish the season with five straight wins and build momentum for 2015.
