Wow Mr. Wheaton not the best spokes person for canyoneering. The writer is a bit unfocused as well. I hike these trails all the time. I didn't realize the Baldy hike was "extreme" hiking. Now that I think about it, there are rattle snakes and poison oak on that trail. I don't have a death wish. It's must be that I secretly love the adrenaline rush not knowing if I a snake will bite me around the corner or if I might have a radical skin rash at the end of the day. Hopefully the Forest Service will close all of those trails to protect reckless adrenaline junkies from themselves.:facepalm1: Mr. Wheaton, thanks for highlighting why it is necessary for the Forest Service has to act to protect reckless canyoneers from their own deplorable proclivities. Stay safe in your car with your seat belt on. Ridiculous article.
