I'll be taking my grandkids on a hike next Thursday. The oldest is nine, the youngest is five (three total). I'd like to go somewhere in the Wasatch Front, Salt Lake Valley portion. These kids seem to be in good shape and I remember my sister hiking Timp when she was six years old, so I'm fairly certain that these kids will have more energy than I do. :) I've thought of Red Pine, Grandeur Peak, Desolation, Mineral Fork, Blanche, etc., but I'm not sure of the snow levels up there. I can see what I can see from the valley and it looks like some of the higher places with north facing slopes will still have a lot of snow in them. Any thoughts?
My vote is for Red Pine lake.
I've done it several times in June over the years and it's mostly snow free...well at least the trail is.

Thanks, jman. I just made a reservation for Timp Cave, which they have never been to, so that's what it's going to be. I think they'll really like it.

Grandeur has been clear of snow for weeks...
Circle All is clear of snow. Reynolds should be good to go.

Hey, Brian, thanks. I thought Grandeur was definitely clear. Where's Reynolds?
