I've been to Moab many times to bike. I've ridden virtually all of the trails there but never spent any time hiking around.
I'm going to be camped at Behind The Rocks with about 50 other people May 21st to the 27th. Eat, bike and hike is on the agenda.
I probably won't want to ride hard 6 days in a row, so I'll be looking to do some awesome day hikes. Epics welcome, but probably not something that requires advanced canyoneering...as I may be hiking with noobies in that regard.
Something with simple rappels would be OK. I have Kelsey's books, but hit me with the creme de la creme, please.

That time of year (it's getting a bit warm), I'd recommend Professor Creek:

Mill Creek and Negro Bill are really good this time of year too. Watch for poison ivy. It can be avoided easily, but some people don't know what it looks like (I'm sure you do).

Thanks, Scott...I knew I could count on you! I see those hikes in Mike's book, so getting to them will be easy enough. Funny how I've been there so many times but never bothered with these. All my friends wanted to do was ride.
Prof. Creek looks perfect!

If you have not seen Corona Arch that is definitely worth checking out. It’s a short hike but awesome scenery.

Hike the South Fork of Sevenmile Canyon. Roughly a mile up 313 from 191. It is the wash canyon on the left.

Thanks, guys.
I've been looking around...seems like the pickin's are quite slim around there. No wonder it's always been all biking all the time! About the only hiking has been in Arches for a couple of days.
The basics like Professor, Negro Bill, Mill and of course Sevenmile are probably enough to keep me busy. I'm sure I'll run up to Corona at some point, too.

Thanks Shane. I just bookmarked your site. Should have done that years ago, I reckon. :2thumbs:
