Went out and did Kibbles N Bits last night. It's a farily new trail in the Cowboy network just up behind the campground. Reminded me a lot of Gooseberry with the rocks and bursts of speed.
It's a beautiful trail but pure single speed hell. At least for me. My 32/21 gearing proved pretty tough. I was able to do well on the lower portions where I could stand and grunt up over the obstacles but once it really started climbing through the rocks it was very hard. The loose corners combined with the tech rocks made it nearly impossible to stay mounted, standing, and pedaling. Probably walked the back half mile or so as it climbs up through the rocks, just couldn't get enough traction in the rear, kept spinning out. We topped out at the top at about 8:00, put on the lights and came down what I think is called bunny and cat in the hat. That was fun, especially at night!
Anyways, looking forward to heading back out with slightly different gearing and seeing how much more of it I can do.
Here are a few pics from last night.
