I need some opinions of the best worthwhile (yet not too long) hikes there. A couple hours is okay, just not something that takes multiple days. If you know any good camp grounds that would be good too.

you could do some research, in print and on line. This is an OLD question that is asked repeatedly.

The best thing to do is pick up a copy of Tom's new book :roflol:

Except the stuff listed in Tom's book are not "hikes".

Angel's Landing, Observation Point, the Narrows, Emerald Pools.
I'd start with Angel's Landing, or the Narrows from Temple of Sinuwava hiking up the paved trail for a mile then get in the water and head upstream and turn around when you are out of time or starting to get tired. Have fun!

There's about half a dozen people here with websites that have a lot of that kind of information. Yeah, we're mostly about canyoneering routes, but sometimes we make exceptions and do trail hikes. Here is my contribution to the list:

Other than that, there are about 10,000 websites that have the info you are looking for. You might try this link for more stuff:

The other joke is the people that call Zion "Zions". There is a place in Utah called Zions - it is a bank. The hikes there are easy, carpeted in fact, but not so interesting...
You might also do well with Tanya's book:

What time of year? Keep in mind for example, the Observation Point Trail will be closed all summer, so scratch that out if you are going then.
Angels Landing is indeed good, but extremely hot in summer.
If you are going in summer, stick to hikes near water. Zion Narrows from the bottom is really good and requires no permit.

For the average hiker, I personally consider this the premier hike in the park and the one don't miss for hikers, provided they bring wading shoes and venture upstream at least 1/2 mile beyond the end of the paved trail.

Personally I think the making it up to the confluence with Orderville would be a great goal and is a spectacular spot of the canyon.

Angels landing is nice but pure hell if it's crowded (always is) and hot. I'd much prefer to just keep going past scout lookout and up onto the bench. Views are incredible. I also like cable mountain and the weeping rock/east rim trail system. I also feel like Hop valley is underrated (it's brutally hot in the summer). The connector from subway top TH to the west rim is really nice too.

I like those trails as well, but for the original poster, be aware that starting June 16, the trails from Weeping Rock will be closed through September.

The "best hike" is to go up the river about 15 minutes, find a spot to sit, eat and relax while observing all the young, beautiful, nearly naked women walking by.

I second that, and Emerald Pools is lovely in winter, with snow falling.

I personally love getting a shuttle and hiking the West Rim Trail. The top down narrows is spectacular. However, these are big hikes. The narrows is great because even in warm weather is mild or cool in there.

I always recommend hiking up to Angel's Landing, then over to West Rim Trail, then do the loop for the spectacular view west. 5-6 hrs if just that, longer if you also do Angel's Landing too. Bring your camera!
