I have to believe those would be distracting as hell, as well as pretty useless unless you spent all your time in a city.

I tried them for a day a couple of weeks ago. The technology isn't there yet, but after using it for a couple of hours I became convinced that they are the future.

While staring at a computer screen from about 5 feet away, the screen size of the Google Glass was larger than my 15" Macbook Pro's screen.
