Only one? How about a top ten?

1. Das Boot + Subway
2. Sad Cow
3. Alcatraz
4. Woody
5. Chambers
6. Constrychnine
7. Kolob (it would be #1 without the MIA exit)
8. Boss Hog
9. Middle Lep
10. Shenanigans (if I was thinner it would rank higher)

Probably my second favorite canyon.

Angel Slot, because it was the first one I did solo.

One can never forget the first time, eh? :happy046:

Awww... this is so cliche. And unless you have serious long term memory problems (not ruling this out), it is simply not true.

Dig deep. Share. Give us a top ten.

Sad Cow was extra fun because we didn't know if we were in the right canyon, plus we had no beta. So, consider my opinion to be heavily biased.

If that's the criteria then messin around must be on there somewhere as well.

I'll go for top five...

1. Lower Antelope
2. Pine Creek
3. Heaps
4. The Squeeze
5. BlueJohn (down East to Ral-stone back up Main)

My favorite is West Canyon, by far. Next would be Kolob, as I don't mind the climb out.

Most of my favorite canyons are unnamed around Lake Powell and the southern Escalante. I really like backpacking canyons, as it adds more adventure to the adventure.

For a long time I had several top ten lists. The list of canyons I liked to share, the list of canyons I did often, my list of favorite rap n swim kiddie canyons, the list of canyons when I wanted to look cool for the other canyoneers....

But I honestly no longer have a top ten list. Who I do a canyon with is now much more important to me then what canyon I do... the actual canyons themselves now pretty much all blur together.

Lists vary greatly by what people have done. Like Axe eluded to above, I kind of categorize them:

Beginner friendly: Pine Creek
Nonstop fun: Slideanide
Bang for your buck: Morocco???
Scenery: Imlay/Kolob
Everything to the Extreme: Heaps
Sometimes hinted at (but no details): Unnamed/no beta canyons

+1 for non stop fun in slideanide.

The best canyon I ever did was probably the lower Titou Gorge in Dominica. It had lots of dark passages, crystal clear water, and hot springs.

For the Colorado Plateau, possibly Imlay followed very closely by the South Fork Choprock. I have not done Heaps yet.

It was a very different situation because we thought we knew what canyon we were in while descending Messin' Around. No fear of the unknown. Twas a fun and memorable day for sure, but Messin' is a 5 out of 10 on my good o-meter.

I'm STILL relieved that everyone had fun that day...

I do have one question.... how can Keyhole not be on anyone's list. I know of no bigger bang for the buck... I mean other then it's not nearly as manly as listing Heaps or Imlay it's by far the best girlfriend canyon around.

Too short, but still requires a permit. I like Keyhole, but it's more of a filler in to finish off the day after you've done something else.

Alcatraz is Alcatraz. Awesome entrance. Physically challenging and fairly scenic.
Big Spring Canyon NW Fork. Underrated. Beautiful, fun and a road less traveled.
High Spur. Stunning in beauty. Ever changing. Relaxing day.
