Short and to the point.
Very little bit of snow and ice in the death gully. Lake almost dry. Mystery Springs about thigh deep. Boulder downclimb afterwards thigh deep. Narrows maybe knee deep. No wetsuits needed. Neo socks recommended.

How many pictures of Mystery do you want? I assumed everybody had seen enough of them.

I want all the pics, give it to us raw...I'm kidding. You assumed correctly in that we've seen plenty of Mystery. Really I just wanted to use the banner normally reserved for online stories of bikini clad coeds without pics. Amirite? Thanks again toyota for the canyon update.

The above is known as a 'candition'.

Trip reports involve stories and pictures.

Either way, thanks for sharing. :gents:

It was a very short story that "reported" on our "trip". :bootyshake:

That's more like it! Any picture of Mystery beats the view from my windowless office. :2thumbs:

When writing a trip report, picture your homies locked up in some office, days/weeks/months/years away from visiting another canyon...

What do they primarily want to from a trip report?

74% Want to see you doing something awesome (or other photos from your adventure).
17% Want to read a good story.
6% Want to read about you getting hurt or doing something stupid.
3% Want to read about the current condition of the canyon you just visited.

I'm not just picking on you Kody, but pleading with all Bogleyites...

when writing trip reports, THINK OF YOUR HOMIES!!

Maybe tomorrow...

I have a hankering to read about somebody getting hurt or doing something stupid today. :lol8:

Here are a few of my pics from the Mystery trip with Kody. One of the pics shows the lake down to a small puddle. Thanks Kody for inviting Lorey and myself to tag along.

Did you happen to see a short piece of yellow rope with a knot in it stuck underneath the boulder at the big drop? Ya that would be mine, don't ask, and if somebody would grab it for me I would like to hang it on my wall. :)

Boulder DC just below Mystery Springs, August 2000. Mike Womack jumping, while Hank Moon climbs up for another go.

The big winter of 2005 took a bunch of sand off the sandpile and dropped it in there. Before that, it was a consistent 10' deep. After - not.

sigh

Curtis, it was August 2000. Filled with sand since then. L'Emp says winter 2005 did it in...

Maybe a new access project for the CAC?

Are there any feasible place to walk out the rim and just rap into the canyon as opposed to 'death gully'

maybe. there was an effort to find a DGA back in the early aughts. Yield: a possible multi-stage rap entry on the east side. To date, hasn't been developed AFAIK. Thought was that most parties would elect the DG over any such contrivance - beginner, especially/hopefully. Still, might be a cool contrivance to engineer one day...
