Our group was planning on doing Johnson Arch Canyon this Saturday but it turns out that Saturday is the first day it is closed! :nono: :facepalm1: So we are looking for replacements and hoping some of the more experience bogleyites can chime in. I'm thinking Water canyon, Pinecreek, or Behunin. We only have a half day so it can't be something too long. I know Pinecreek is likely to have lots of cold water but with a wet suit would it be too bad? Especially with a dryer winter. I haven't done Behunin, does it often have deep water? Is there snow at the top? I hear ironically Water canyon isn't too bad or too wet in the cold. True?
Thanks ahead of time!!

I have no idea about current conditions, but even if conditions were good, I would think something like Behunin a bit long if you only have half a day.

Consider renting dry suits from ZAC - you will be much more comfortable than being in wetsuits. It's pretty darn nice here right now!

Half Day:
Yankee & Boltergiest, combo
Angels Landing & Lower Refrigerator combo
Cherry Canyon
Water Canyon
Spry if you move fast
Behunin if you move really, really, really fast
Birch Hollow - assuming roads are ok
There are lots of options

Those are some good ideas. I hadn't thought about Lower Refrigerator. Thanks

I have done Pine Creek in both March and in April. Both times the group size was 2 and we moved relatively quickly. Both days the air temp was 50s-60s. Despite this there was still some ice on the March trip. Both days I froze my keister off in a 4/3 wetsuit. Only tolerable because there is minimal standing around time with only 2 people. If you go- small group size, 5 mm Neo socks at least, glove setup that will keep your hands warm. Remember, Pine Creek has a big drainage and there's likely not a ton of evaporation going on right now.
And if you're suiting up for Pine Creek, you just as well tack on an extra hour for Keyhole.
