Hey Bogley!
Well for my first post, i'm wondering if anyone has ever gotten med evac. out or any preferance on PPO vs HMO for canyoneers. I currently have a PPO and my renewal is coming up. The insurance lady at my job recommended a PPO because i'm a "thrillseeker" Just wondering what the rest of the community has or wants ;)

I'd say if you do a lot of basejumping, high altitude skydiving, swimming with sharks, etc then you should look into a PPO.
If you just engage in frilly non-extreme sports like curling, walking or canyoneering then a PPO shouldn't be a high priority.

Thanks for your input!
haha never heard anyone put curling and canyoneering into the same bucket. My only concern is if EVER with in the next year i have an accident that requires med evac or something expensive how i would be covered or lack of...

If it's the evacuation cost you are worried about, you might look into joining the American Alpine Club. Members get rescue insurance as a benefit.
