Bike Shoppe Buys Bingham

Just heard that The Bike Shoppe is buying Bingham Cyclery. So that means the Bingham locations will now be Bike Shoppes. But it sounds like they will still be carying Specialized bikes and gear.

Wow, so that's where all the money that they don't pay employees is going...

I know the original owner of the Shoppe, real tightwad, skinflint. Even his best technicians make barely more than min wage. He's kind of a dick. His son Matt that runs the shoppe now is a stellar guy though.

Binghams has gone downhill (or uphill if you're talking about prices) real fast since the early 2000s. I haven't walked into one in probably 2 or 3 years, they only sell Specialized crap and just about charge you a cover charge to walk in and breathe the air. Skyline is the only local shop I ever really use.

So Skyler Bingham only sold 3 or 4 shops (I forget how many are in operation). The only one that Skyler Bingham will still own and operate is the SLC location.
