These really seem to be gaining in popularity, and I've been attempting to check out what is out there so far, but not sure what to get ultimately. First off to those of you who have a good amount of experience with them, is it worth an extra couple grand for weight savings on the lighter models? If investing in something like this I'd like to get something that will be fairly upgradeable in the future, with a decent lightweight frame set.

I've seen the aluminum model that Trek has, the Surly's, and read about Dan's (Epic Biking) trip to the South Pole on his Borealis. I've been eyeballing this Lynksey Stratus, a titanium frame set, as well. Up there in price a bit. :shock2:

Any recommendations would come in really handy right now. :wallbash:

Some interesting searches from Google provided these, FYI...
