As a matter of interest, why is it called a "touchdown" when there is no touching down of the ball in the endzone?

Waltzing over the line is hardly sporting, shirley? Compare with proper Rugby Football, where the player has to touch the ball over the line.

True - they are not known for playing well on the road during playoffs (in the cold) but there is always a first time to get it done. Hopefully it will be Saturday night! With Drew Brees, anything is possible! Geaux Saints!! :2thumbs:
