Having been on Palm, and WINce devices since the start, the iphone was hardly innovative. It was a refinement of existing concepts. Even the apple Newton wasn't the start of it.

Funny how Android started over from scratch and is crushing Apple at it's own game. Last time I looked Android controlled over 80% of the smartphone market.

Let's not forget the iPaq. The iPhone didn't start from scratch either, they got their ideas from the competition just like everybody else. This is back in 2003! ----just not a phone. But they did have a cell phone attachment available.
