NO Christmas here.. We celebrate a Generic winter holiday where we give each other gifts showing appreciation for each other.. it just so happens to coincide with a religious holiday celebrated by Christians,

Woohoo.... the hot young stripper wife gave me the tool chest I have always dreamed of for Christmas.... my old tool chest was just getting to small for all my tools. 13 heavy duty ball bearing drawers.

I can't wait to start spinning wrenches on the Corvette and race prepping my daughters mountain bikes.

It was a beautiful Christmas Day. Christmas Eve we drove through a blizzard (the worst part of the trip) to the trailhead for Vances Cabin. We snowshoed up for 3.2 miles to the cabin reaching it right at dark. In the evening I cooked us all a dinner of chicken stew and we had some other treats. We also read some Christmas stories and other books.

By around midnight, the sky was completely clear and full of stars. We awoke to cloudless skies, sunshine and -16F. All the trees were pre-decorated and looked just like Christmas trees! After a good breakfast we climbed up the Taylor ridge to the summit for the great views. It had warmed up to 7F, which believe it or not feels really warm in the sunshine when you are burning calories up a mountain. In fact, you can break a sweat at anything above zero when you're working hard!

After enjoying the summit at 11,725 feet elevation (it was a bit breezy so we didn't stick around too long), we headed for home. It was a beautiful Christmas Day.

I scored this year! But my 2 favorite presents hands down....

1. I play this game called league of legends and my favorite character is Teemo in his bunny suit. My wife made me a custom Cpt Teemo Action Figure replica! She put a lot of thought into it, and just goes to show I married the nerd of my dreams. I bet most wives don't even know the names of their husband's favorite video game characters, hehe. But its going on my desk in a place of honor.

2. I'm a big fan of Zombie tools blades and I got the Reaper! It's similar to a naginta or a short polearm, good for close combat. Actually I can find a pic from their website real fast. But it's hella cool and will look great above our fireplace. :)
