First I'd like to thank everyone for helping to try to keep this thing going.
It's a great place to ride and I hope the tradition continues. ( weather pending).
We started with nine I think it was but 2 decided to take their chances on some dryer grounds.
That left 7 for todays ride.
The ground was great. Nice and tacky in some areas and a bit greasy in others with a pinch of snow in the trees but nothing was frozen anywhere and it was great.
Blue skies everywhere you looked and the temps worked just right.40'a to 50's:2thumbs:
We had a few issues and I'll let others chime in on that.
It was a great day to get out and ride and it was great seeing my old ridding buddies and new.

Yeah great ride. We started with a large group of 10 guys ( Garbanzo, fourtycal maChete Mtnseeker1 double moo RedSpecialized ) and it might have been better to split up anyway. We had a circus as it was.
I was just starting to get in a groove with that dirt when we left. I enjoyed the challenge of ripping through that singletrack and looking for traction at times. It was fun rallying my bike through the trees.
We ended up finding some great stuff headed south right when we decided to head back. I was flying along that section, great stuff. Well, I'll let the pictures tell the rest... :o)

Mark showing off his new boots. Were they bad luck???

First bit of carnage. Mark got sideways, maybe cross rutted...not sure. He was laying down for a bit and I thought the worst. Luckily he was okay. He did a few somersaults and took a dirt nap, slamming his head down. Not good.

Crash #2 was into a tree. You can see the single tire track going to the left. This tore off his fender and ripped his gas line off. Luckily we were able to fix it after some work and bailing wire of course. Unfortunately it only lasted for a while and we had to tow him back. Prolly got dirt in an injector or clogged the pump. Shit...

Nice add acca I learned a bunch today like: everyone needs to carry at least 2 ft. of tow strap or more if riding with lessor numbers.
Fuel injection clamps, Hose and a Subaru fuel filter that fits the pressure:lol8: Dam did you see the hose downing the ballon animal thing :),
OH and trials tires just plain suck in the mud:roflol:

That Tree shot was just way wild.
I'll let Garbo explain that one.
I did not even see a skid. Almost like he was looking down at something on the bike and Whammo.

After today I took a minute to look into straps. I found this.
http://www.strapworks.com/Flat_Nylon_Webbing_p/fnw1.htm
Now remember I have a bad as sewing machine to do any modes to this stuff that will work.
That's roughly .50cents per foot with a load range of 1000 ft pds per sq. inch unless I'm reading it wrong.
with some design work and some warm fuzzy shit to protect your forks/triples this should work out to about 12ft per rider at just over 1 buck a foot.
You know with shipping sewing taxes and being fare maybe even less.
If the design is right? And it is easy to pack and the price is? well it will be and well there is no reason we can't slip this one into our packs somehow.
Shoot for just over a buck a foot and high hopes that the need never arises what the heck?
Look at the bright side- I have some trails down here that if you mess up bad it may very well take several of us to hook together to get your bike back on trail.

Garbo you are one of the toughest buggers I know but?
You can ride like a teenager.
You can even crash like a teenager.
But at our age I don't think you're going to heal up like a teenager.:ne_nau:
I'd say slow down a bit but we all know how far that will go.:lol8:
Best of luck on the photos and photo shop won't work.

You're right about not healing like a teenager. I hurt like hell all over. Note to self : don't run trials tires in the mud. That's my newest excuse anyway. :O
