We did a top down Subway trip on 9-6-2013 and overall had a wonderful day. It was a family trip with 12 of us (several newbies). We took with us a very good friend and business associate that is a very accomplished SLC outdoor photographer - Martin van Hemert. Martin has really specialized lately in taking beautiful 3D Panoramas of Utah's wonderful scenery. I had never seen any 3D Panos of the Subway and I knew it was the perfect setting for a panorama.
His first 2 compilations are now posted online at his Utah 3D.net site (http://www.utah3d.net/). There are also quite a few other Utah outdoor panoramas there.
This first one is at the saddle on the hike in.

The second one is of the actual Subway.

Click and drag with the mouse to move the panorama in any direction. Roll the mouse wheel to zoom in/out.
It is very cool to pan all the way to the sky and then spin around....or the ground! :-)
These really do a wonderful job showing the beauty that the Subway is. I was quipping that it looks even better than when we were there! Great photography does that!
We shot several along the way, 4 or 5 total I think. He will get a few more posted in the next weeks. It takes quite a bit of time to do the stitching needed for a quality pano.
Enjoy!
