Ok all you google earthers...
So as far as I can tell, you can't add place marks in mobile (why the hell not is beyond me). So naturally I'd like to do it on my desk top. The problem is, on my desktop I cannot for the life of me figure out how to log in with my google account so my desktop placemarks sync with my mobile.
Any help?

Btw, if you have a gmail account, don't get google+. It makes everything so much more complicated.

I haven't used the desktop Google Earth client for quite a while, but what I have used is the web browser version.
Go ahead and sign into chrome and go to http://maps.google.com and view it in Earth mode, with a small plugin to install. That may help you place your placemarks and sync them with your phone.
Then when you're done, embed your waypoints here in bogley by using the SAVEDMAP code

and just after looking at that thread, looks like I need to revisit the code to make it embed a little wider map

That makes sense, but I just wish I could actually login into earth with my google ID. It seems more intuitive that way. I can't believe they haven't made it so you can drop pins in mobile. Crazy

Google has been disappointing me lately too. Instead of constantly improving and adding features to their apps and services like they used to, they're updates having been stepping backwards instead of forwards. In the maps app on android devices you no longer have access to "my places" or the terrain layer. Two of the most used features by me. :(

Looks like you just have to upload your KML/KMZ file to your phone. No easy way to just sync it.
