If anybody has information on my ropes I left behind on the final rappel in MB, please let me know.

You might also post this notice at the Canyon Collective.

Quite a few people hang at the Collective OR at Bogley, but not both.

Quite a few people hang out on Bogley, a light dusting of lonely people hang elsewhere. Thowing a bottle in the ocean that contains a description of your rope will also increase your chances.

Tom

Fixed that for you.

Hey man, I'm just calculating odds in my mind and trying to be helpful.

Another equallly plausible suggestion: describe the rope to Lassie and ask her to find it.

I will post other methods of finding the rope as I think of them.

Your humble servant,

Bob :lol8:

Just curious.... when did two that refuse to hang at Bogley become quite a few?

I think I get it. The ropes were a sacrifice to the canyon gods. I can live with that.

Hmmm. Maybe.

The folks that found you seem like very nice people. We chatted with all of them the day after your rescue; didn't seem like the "finder, keeper" type. Did they pull down your ropes before you were hauled away?

If so, I bet they make an effort to get them back to you. Bogley is a very good place to reach out and try to find them.

And a fun place to joke with Tom. :haha:

If I remember the story correctly, they rescuing party were very fortunate to find your ropes there since they thought they were doing Not Mindbender. Seems like they owe you the ropes back, or at least it would be good form to return them. After all, it's not like you were wearing a cumberbund and hard hat, right?

It's very likely you'll get your ropes back. There are an increasing amount of experiences where Bogley has been the medium for Lost and Found Canyoneering gear success stories. :2thumbs:

Well, back to the rope subject, good luck. Do you have a picture of it by chance? Not that there should be a multitude of abandoned ropes in the canyon to choose from, but...
